- What it is
- Tatako is a first-words app for families raising a child with two languages: five minutes a day, first words and phrases to hear, find and say, and nothing to read.
- Lessons
- First words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool.
- After a lesson
- A grown-up spends about two minutes marking every word: New, Repeat more, Understands or Can say. Shaky words come back first.
- Method
- Our own, built on research in cognitive and child psychology.
- Languages
- We started with English, and more languages are on the way. The language of home stays the language of home.
- Voices
- The lesson voice speaks English. A guide voice adds short prompts and translations, in Spanish today and in more languages soon. You can switch it off at any time.
- Where it works
- In the browser on any phone or tablet, all over the world. Apps are on the way.
- The octopus
- A small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven. In the app he goes by Tako.
- Who makes it
- Max Levoshin is co-founder and CEO of Tatako.
- Give the logo clear space on every side, at least the height of the letter a.
- Smallest sizes: mark 24 px, wordmark 64 px wide, logo 96 px wide.
- Use the color version on light backgrounds and the white one on dark backgrounds.
- Please don’t change the colors, stretch or rotate it, add outlines or shadows, or set it on a busy picture.
- Please don’t redraw the octopus or give him socks.
