A parent presses play on one short episode during dinner. Tomorrow the child asks for it again. That return visit is your number.
Tatako is hiring its first YouTube Channel Manager to turn our videos into a place families come back to. You own the channels themselves: long episodes, songs, playlists and language versions. The Social Media Manager runs the daily posts and conversations across networks, and the two of you plan Shorts together.
About Tatako
Tatako is a first-words app for families raising a child with two languages. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.
The language of home stays the language of home. Tatako adds a second one on top, at a toddler’s pace, from the very first words. A guide voice can explain what to do, and you can switch it off whenever you like. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.
We started with English: first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. More languages are on the way. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet.
The role
- Remote and full-time, open to candidates anywhere in the world
- Fluent English
- You report directly to the founders
By day 90, every channel uploads on a steady calendar, playlists lead a family from one video to the next, and the studio reads a weekly note on what viewers came back for.
What you will do
- Run the channels in every language: upload calendar, titles, descriptions, covers, end screens and playlists.
- Build the shelf: episodes, songs and longer compilations arranged so a family finds the next video without trying.
- Protect the channel: one idea per video, no near-duplicates and nothing uploaded in batches.
- Test covers and titles that stay honest: what is on the cover is what is in the video.
- Read YouTube Analytics every week: returning viewers, watch time, where people leave and what the studio should try next.
- Keep every upload inside the rules: audience settings, disclosures, captions, copyright and community guidelines.
- Plan Shorts with the Social Media Manager and language versions with the localization producer.
What you bring
- 4+ years running YouTube channels for a family brand, a media company or a creator studio.
- A record of growing a channel through returning viewers instead of stunts.
- Deep knowledge of YouTube Studio: playlists, end screens, captions, chapters and Shorts.
- A firm grip on YouTube’s rules, including the ones on repetitive and reused content.
- Cover and title craft, with the data to back your choices.
- Clear weekly reporting that a director and a founder can both act on.
Bonus points
- You have managed one brand’s channels in several languages.
- You have worked on the channel of an animated series.
Why you will love it
- A library that keeps working for families long after each upload.
- A studio that listens: your weekly note shapes what gets made next.
- A lead with a very clickable face, usually surprised, often counting.
