Can you say “hello” five ways, one of them to a rock that does not answer? Record it. That is the audition.

Tatako is hiring Voice Actors for the characters and the narrator of our series and songs, in English and in the languages that follow. You record from your own booth, booked session by session with the Voice Director. Parts are short, reactions matter as much as lines, and every small sound has to feel like the same character.

About Tatako

Tatako is a first-words app for families raising a child with two languages. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.

The language of home stays the language of home. Tatako adds a second one on top, at a toddler’s pace, from the very first words. A guide voice can explain what to do, and you can switch it off whenever you like. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.

We started with English: first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. More languages are on the way. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet.

The role

  • Remote project work from your own booth, open to candidates anywhere in the world
  • Native in the language you perform in, with working English
  • An agreement signed before you start: your recordings are made for Tatako, Inc. and their rights go to the company in writing

By the end of your first booking, your character has a voice the studio can recognize in a single word, and your take is in a finished episode.

What you will do

  • Create a character voice from a drawing and a few lines of description, and keep it steady across sessions.
  • Record short lines, reactions and efforts: a gasp, a giggle, a proud little cough.
  • Sing when the part asks for it, if singing is one of your skills.
  • Say the word of the episode clearly, the way a child can copy it, and then play the joke around it.
  • Stay your own: no impressions of known actors, famous cartoons or other people’s characters.
  • Take direction live on a video call, with a fresh version after every note.
  • Deliver clean, unprocessed WAV files, named the way the session asks, on the agreed date.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of paid voice work in animation, games, dubbing, commercials or audiobooks, with a demo reel.
  • A grown-up voice with a young, playful range: we cast adults only, even for the smallest characters.
  • A quiet home booth with a broadcast microphone and a clean signal.
  • Character range: you can go from a tiny squeak to a pompous boom without losing the words.
  • Clear native diction, the kind a child can repeat.
  • Comic instinct and easy manners in a short session.

Bonus points

  • You sing in tune.
  • You perform well in more than one language.

Why you will love it

  • Small parts with big personalities, in a world made for watching twice.
  • Short sessions from your own booth, on a schedule agreed with you.
  • A narrator’s dream: a hero who never stops talking to rocks.
