A song due Friday, a voice booked in another time zone, a felt octopus and a cut running long. You keep all four moving.

Tatako is hiring its first Video Producer to run the studio behind our series, song videos and shorts. You turn a script into a finished video on a calm, repeatable schedule, and everyone who touches it, from writers and artists to musicians and voices, works from your plan.

About Tatako

Tatako is a first-words app for families raising a child with two languages. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.

The language of home stays the language of home. Tatako adds a second one on top, at a toddler’s pace, from the very first words. A guide voice can explain what to do, and you can switch it off whenever you like. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.

We started with English: first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. More languages are on the way. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet.

The role

  • Remote and full-time, open to candidates anywhere in the world
  • Fluent English
  • You report directly to the founders

By day 90, every video in production has an owner, a date and a place on one board, project artists know exactly what is due, and an episode travels from script to upload without a last-minute rescue.

What you will do

  • Build the production line from script to upload: stages, handoffs, review points and naming rules that keep every file findable.
  • Plan the calendar: episodes, shorts, song videos and longer compilations on a steady rhythm, with room for reviews and fixes.
  • Staff each project: book directors, writers, artists, musicians and voices across time zones, and brief them so nobody has to guess.
  • Hold the budget for each video and each season, and tell the founders early when scope and money stop matching.
  • Keep the paperwork ahead of the work: an agreement signed by every outside contributor before they start, and a dated record of who made what.
  • Run reviews that end in decisions: one round of notes, one person who decides, one date for the next version.
  • Deliver every master in all its forms: the long version, vertical cuts, captions, thumbnails and language versions, checked and ready for the channel.

What you bring

  • 4+ years producing animation, children’s video or a busy video channel, with finished episodes to show.
  • Pipeline thinking: you know what a late script does to the boards, the voice session and the edit, and you plan around it.
  • Scheduling and cost tracking in ShotGrid, Frame.io, Notion or a plain spreadsheet that never lies.
  • A way with creative people: they trust you because you protect their time and say no kindly.
  • A working grasp of agreements with freelancers, musicians and voice actors, and the instinct to call a lawyer before it matters.
  • Taste: you can tell a good cut from a finished one, and you fight for the good one.

Bonus points

  • You have produced stop-motion, puppet films or other handmade work.
  • You have released one video in several languages on the same day.

Why you will love it

  • A studio at the very start: the pipeline you draw is the one everyone follows.
  • Work that lasts: a good song gets played at breakfast for years.
  • A lead actor who never asks for a trailer and still cannot count past seven.
