Community Partnerships Manager (Spanish and English)
Saturday story time: the librarian holds up a word card, the kids shout “blue!”, and a mom scans the code. You set that up.
Tatako is hiring its first Community Partnerships Manager to bring the octopus to the places families already gather, online and in person. The partners, the program and the way we measure it are yours to build.
About Tatako
Tatako makes short spoken English lessons for little ones. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.
Spanish stays the language of home, and Tatako adds a little English on top. An optional Spanish guide voice explains what to do and switches off anytime. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.
The course has 369 first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet, and we start with Spanish-speaking families across the United States.
The role
- Remote and full-time, open to candidates who live in Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee or Arizona
- Native or near-native Spanish and fluent English
- You report directly to the founders
By day 90, librarians, group admins and community leaders share Tatako on their own, and every family that joins through a partner is counted.
What you will do
- Find your way into parent groups on WhatsApp and Facebook: earn the admins’ trust, ask before you post, follow each group’s rules and share only what helps.
- Bring Tatako to public libraries: bilingual story time built around a lesson theme like colors or animals, and word cards waiting at the children’s desk.
- Partner with early learning programs and bilingual preschool teachers: a short family-night demo of the three small steps and the Spanish guide voice, plus a note for parents to take home.
- Work with community organizations, family resource centers and faith communities, with a partner kit in both languages that any volunteer can present.
- Create the printed word cards: a picture and its word from the 369, and a partner QR code that opens app.tatako.com on any phone or tablet.
- Show up where families celebrate: a word-card table at Día del Niño fairs, library family days and back-to-school nights, run together with partners.
- Count families per partner: a code on every card and kit, a CRM record for every relationship, and a monthly read of which partners bring families back week after week.
What you bring
- 3+ years in community partnerships, outreach or field marketing with Latino families in the US, for a brand, school network, library system or nonprofit.
- Relationships you can name: librarians, teachers, group admins and community leaders who answer when you call.
- Ease in front of any room, from a story time circle to a parent night at the community center, in either language.
- Respect for how communities work: you give before you ask, and you show up again next month.
- Order in the details: a CRM that is always current, kits that arrive on time, and partners who never have to chase you.
- Care for families’ trust: event photos only with a parent’s written consent, and no personal details gathered beyond what a parent offers.
Bonus points
- You have worked in a library, an early learning program or a family literacy nonprofit.
- You run or moderate a parent group yourself.
- You have built a partner program across several states.
Why you will love it
- You meet the families you work for: at story time, at a fair and in the group chats where parents trade tips.
- A program with your name on it: the partner kit, the word cards and the calendar are yours to shape.
- A product that travels well: a word card on the fridge turns into five minutes of English before dinner.
