App Store Optimization Manager
Launch day: parked outside preschool, a dad watches the octopus wave in the app preview and taps Get. You built that page.
Tatako is hiring its first App Store Optimization Manager to launch the coming iOS and Android apps and grow them in both stores. Bilingual listings, keyword sets, screenshots, preview videos, ratings and every store test are yours to build.
About Tatako
Tatako makes short spoken English lessons for little ones. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.
Spanish stays the language of home, and Tatako adds a little English on top. An optional Spanish guide voice explains what to do and switches off anytime. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.
The course has 369 first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet, and we start with Spanish-speaking families across the United States.
The role
- Remote and full-time, open to candidates who live in Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee or Arizona
- Fluent English
- You report directly to the founders
By day 90, listings for both stores are written, designed and ready in both languages, and you know which keywords, screenshots and preview videos to test the week the apps go live.
What you will do
- Own every store listing in two languages from scratch, from the name and subtitle to the release notes, and turn the launch list on tatako.com into pre-orders and pre-registrations.
- Direct the screenshots and app preview videos: the octopus waving hello, the three lesson steps told frame by frame, and captions that read at thumbnail size.
- Build a keyword set per language, including the Spanish (Mexico) localization that the US App Store also indexes and the Spanish (United States) listing on Google Play.
- Run Apple Search Ads as your keyword lab: tight exact-match ad groups per language, a steady read of which words bring families who stay, and the winners fed back into the listings.
- Test without pause once the apps are live: product page optimization, store listing experiments, and a custom product page or store listing for every campaign and creator link.
- Grow ratings and reviews the honest way: ask grown-ups right after they mark how each word went, never mid-lesson, and answer every review in its own language.
- Own the Kids and Families rules with the engineers: Apple’s Kids Category, parental gates, Google Play’s Families policy and honest privacy labels, with no ad tracking in the lessons.
What you bring
- 4+ years in app store optimization for consumer apps, including a launch you led on both stores.
- Hands-on command of App Store Connect, Google Play Console and Apple Search Ads, plus Appfigures or Sensor Tower for keywords and Adjust for attribution.
- A copywriter’s discipline: every character of a name, subtitle and keyword field earns its place.
- An art director’s eye: you storyboard a preview video and judge a screenshot at thumbnail size.
- A clear read of store numbers, from impressions and product page views to installs, and of when a test result is real.
- A firm grip on both stores’ rules for apps made for kids, COPPA included, and the calm to answer an App Review rejection with a fix the same day.
Bonus points
- You write store copy and keyword sets in both languages yourself.
- You have grown an app in the Kids or Education category.
- You cut preview videos yourself from screen recordings.
Why you will love it
- The store presence is yours from day one: every listing, keyword set and test starts with you.
- A character built for the small screen: a round octopus who waves and moves, ready for a preview video.
- Real moments to show in every screenshot: breakfast, bath time, the car and bedtime.
How to apply
Meet the octopus at tatako.com, then email [email protected] with your LinkedIn profile or portfolio. Make sure it shows a store listing you launched and grew.
