Full Stack Engineer, Growth

From a creator’s link to “hello” in two taps, before the toast pops. Every step on that path runs on your code.

Tatako is hiring its first Full Stack Engineer for Growth to make the road from tatako.com to a finished lesson short and sure. Landing pages, blog templates, sign-in, the launch list, creator links and the experiments that improve them are yours to build.

About Tatako

Tatako makes short spoken English lessons for little ones. A lesson takes about five minutes, there is nothing to read, and a small round octopus keeps everyone company. He has eight arms, no socks, and usually loses count at seven.

Spanish stays the language of home, and Tatako adds a little English on top. An optional Spanish guide voice explains what to do and switches off anytime. Every lesson has three small steps: Hear it, say it. Touch it. Name it. In the last step the picture comes back without the word, and the child names it first.

The course has 369 first words and phrases, from “hello” and “mommy” to colors, animals and what the teacher says at preschool. Tatako works in the browser on any phone or tablet, and we start with Spanish-speaking families across the United States.

The role

  • Remote and full-time, open to candidates who live in Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee or Arizona
  • Fluent English
  • You report directly to the founders

By day 90, a parent goes from a creator’s link to a finished lesson without a wasted tap, every step on the way is measured, and the launch list is ready for the apps.

What you will do

  • Build landing pages in React and TypeScript that load fast on a mid-range phone with a weak signal: server rendering, images sized per screen, tags that wait until the page is usable, and a performance budget in CI.
  • Own the parent blog templates for tatako.com/blog and tatako.com/es/blog: article and category pages, structured data, language alternates and a layout the SEO lead publishes into daily, no engineer needed.
  • Carry context through Google sign-in: the creator code, the campaign tags and the page a parent came from survive the redirect, and the family lands right in a lesson.
  • Build the launch list for the apps coming to the App Store and Google Play: a short form, a confirmation email, consent stored with its date, one-click unsubscribe and a launch-day email that opens the right store.
  • Give every creator a link and a code: credit that holds from a bio to a finished lesson, codes easy to say on a podcast and type without a typo, and Adjust links that remember the creator through an install.
  • Run experiments with the product analyst: feature flags from our Kotlin or Flask services, one variant per family on every device, exposure logged when a variant renders, and a kill switch for any test that hurts finished lessons.
  • Wire the events the tracking plan defines, checked in a debug view before each release, with Google Tag Manager and ad tags on grown-up pages only, never in the lessons.

What you bring

  • 5+ years building full stack features for a consumer web product, including growth work you measured end to end.
  • TypeScript and React on the front, Kotlin or Python with Flask on the server, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB underneath.
  • Google sign-in and OAuth in depth: redirects, the state parameter, sessions and every way a link can lose its context.
  • SQL on BigQuery, so you read the funnel yourself before and after each change.
  • Email that reaches the inbox: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, double opt-in and a list kept clean.
  • A privacy reflex: you ask what a tag collects before you add it, and you can prove every consent you store.

Bonus points

  • You have built deferred deep links for a mobile app launch, with Adjust or a similar partner.
  • You have shipped a bilingual site with every page right in both languages.

Why you will love it

  • You build the road every new family travels, from a creator’s post to the octopus waving hello.
  • The launch list you build today becomes the crowd on launch day in the App Store and Google Play.
